New Zealand and the rest of the world are in an economic recession. This has meant that already many of our fellow Kiwi workers, especially in the manufacturing sector, have lost their jobs and it is predicted more could follow.
Sometimes we feel that there is very little that we can do. However, buying locally made products, even if they are a bit more expensive, will help keep another kiwi worker in a job, make sure fewer factories are closed and fewer workers are made redundant.
This website is part of the NDU’s Workers for Kiwi Made Campaign and has been made possible through the Government’s Buy Kiwi Made Programme.
As part of the programme, the National Distribution Union successfully applied to the Ministry of Economic Development to run a campaign for workers.
